What you will learn
This STOTT PILATES® Intensive Reformer (IR) Course teaches you how to design and lead the Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) STOTT PILATES® Reformer workouts in a personal training or group setting for a range of clients. Effective use of the Reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
How to develop programs for personal and group classes
Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts

Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions

Pre-requisites
30 hours plus of attending any Pilates classes/workouts (please contact us to discuss your fitness & Pilates experience).
Working knowledge of functional anatomy (please contact us to discuss training options if required). Need confidence in your anatomy knowledge? Energetic interactive live workshop to familiarise yourself with the necessary anatomy knowledge required for attendance on the STOTT PILATES® Matwork Plus Props Course. Includes basic biomechanics, anatomical terminology, skeletal anatomy, joint actions, muscular contractions, postural types, origins/insertions/actions of major muscle groups. To compliment this workshop, the recommended textbooks to purchase are Trail Guide to the Body and Trail Guide to Movement by Andrew Biel - available in digital or hard copy.
Communication strength – applicants with a strong history of Pilates participation and/or experience teaching/managing in another occupation will be considered.

Feb/Mar 2025 Bundle Discount: Enrol onto the STOTT PILATES Reformer Level 1 + Level 2 Courses in February/March 2025 and receive a $450 discount on the combined course cost.
Courses limited to 12 participants.
Terms: 20% deposit of course fee is required at time of registration to secure enrollment (non-refundable). Balance of fee is due 1 month prior to the training commencing.

After training, instructors can begin teaching clients as a ‘STOTT PILATES® Trained Instructor’. Upon certification instructors can advertise their ‘STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor’ status.
If you choose to become certified in the STOTT PILATES® method, you have 6 months from the last day of your course to sit your exam. If this time expires, you are required to book at least 1 hour with an Instructor Trainer to reinstate your eligibility.
Note: no additional post course costs are applicable to receive these requirements.
Requirements of certification
50 hours of instruction and supervised teaching (completed when attending the STOTT PILATES® Reformer Level 1 Course (IR)
Minimum of 10 hours of observation
Minimum of 40 hours of physical review
Minimum of 25 hours of practice teaching
Total: 125 hours
Observation hours can be logged by observing a STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer or a certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor. If access to either is not possible due to location challenges, these hours can be logged by observing your course material DVDs supplied.
Physical review hours can be logged by practicing the course content yourself (or being taught by a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor)
Practice teaching hours are logged by teaching clients/friends/fellow students, etc.
